No. It's playing upon the Steriotype that Bachelors cannot cook, iron or sew.

Which the majority cannot.

Spinsters, on the other hand, are supposed to be able to.

But a lot of them cannot also.

Somehow I believe Vector would be great at a dating survival class, if only for the time she spends in Life Advice. Although she probably needs to take hers more.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

I pity you. You're missing out.

I get this a lot.  I don't see it, personally.  Creature comforts in general just don't do anything for me.  Yeah, it's nice when it's happening, but it has no meaning whatsoever once it's over.  At no point in my life have I reminisced about some time that I was really comfortable.

You know what my favorite childhood memory is?  My first motorcycle trip through the rockies at age 11 with my dad and uncle.  We had put off finding a camping spot a bit too long and it was getting dark... and raining large sleet... and we were careening around scenic roads with large drops frequently off to one side with no rail.  We had to stop at one point, because I wasn't wearing rain pants and my jeans had completely frozen over with ice.  I remember ice shattering and falling off my legs as I dismounted the bike.  Yeah, I was cold... but it was also fucking awesome and I'll never forget it.

I've come to understand that I'm really really different from the majority of people, though.

there's food that you keep eating just because your brain can't possibly believe what your tongue just told it it was in the mouth.

I've never had an experience like this.  I may just have a really weak sense of taste.  I know I have a very weak sense of smell.  The most interesting/memorable food experience I've ever had was some indian curry that gave me a nose bleed.

i don't find it satisfying to having a lone pill rattling in your stomach.

Meh... my stomach would shrink eventually.

I am now going to change the entire scope of my education just so that I can become head of the medicine department in VU.

Oi! That's my department, you bastard!

Or turn into a maze of ulcers. As for the scent thing, it's linked to taste (when you taste, you're actually smelling what you eat) and pathological. No cure AFAIK, but it explains your meh-ness to food.

*absorbs Telle's sandwich, chewing on his hand*
Nice.

Yeah.  This is what I was getting at.

Still, I feel the same way about other sorts of creature comfort.  It's the challenges, rough spots, and artistic/intellectual experiences that are memorable/meaningful to me.  The meals, hot showers, comfy chairs, etc in between are just empty filler.

You laced cyanide on your hand. It kinda seeps through skin, doesn't it? And who the hell punches a 'nid in the mouth, poison or not?

Back to Education! Or cooking! Or at least ulcers!

We should have more people like you. There'd be more wars, for one thing.  ;D

They often are, because those are the ones that impact you the most.

I find it strange that though I have no coherent sequence of memories from any point in my life, I can clearly remember scenes of rooms, buildings and places I've been, dating as far back as (apparently) when I was just over a year old.

Funny thing is, the scenes are always desolate, with a feeling that someone's still there or behind me. I never see this presence.

That's an amusing statement, when I'm actually a pacifist :P

At the same time, I loved playing contact sports, and I played hard and loved coming home sore.  Being barely able to stand after a good 6 minute wrestling match was one of the most amazing experiences ever.

Could never understand spectating, though.

Funny thing is, the scenes are always desolate, with a feeling that someone's still there or behind me. I never see this presence.

This is rather bizarre and intriguing.

My lack of ability to break out of several consistent behavioral cycles is making me feel pretty crappy. Bridging the gap between intent and action should not be this hard, and yet it is.

Bleh. Life Advice time.
