Hurmph.

Learning Japanese in my youth has irrevocably fucked-up my apologizing-with-dignity-intact skills.  I literally end up wanting to write things like "from your humble student, who in her exhaustion did not drag her sorry carcass to class."  And yes, this is actually connected to learning Japanese, because I never apologized before I started learning, and afterwards I was all into the bowing and "oh, I'm sorry, I'm so sorry" attitude (though starting kendo may have also had something to do with this).

You'd think that learning French would give me an insatiable taste for porn or insulting people's clothing or something.

[/chauvinistic generalization]

Well, okay, I'll be honest--I probably have a much higher threshold for porn in my romance than most people due to reading so many French novels.  I'm hooked on angsty reminiscences of things past, too.  Also food.  I adore food.

Chick flicks just aren't that interesting when they end with a chaste little kiss.

Just got my grade for the Worst Project I've Ever Done.  83.  It's difficult for me to systematically dismember a perfectly good essay.
What, 83 out of 100?

You'd think that learning French would give me an insatiable taste for porn or insulting people's clothing or something.
Clearly it'd lead to you rioting on the streets.

And "filant à l'anglaise," obviously.

EDIT: I just finished a letter with "my thanks and regret in equal measure."  Does anyone have a time machine?  I need to get my Victorian England on.

I found that there's only one french word worth remembering. Seriously, my vocab's down to that one word.

"Merde".

My dad actually guessed that on his first try. Not bad for a guy who hasn't seen me in a few years.

I do not know how this can get more ironic... Whether Vector was yelling at me because of the sigtext that wasn't mine, which would probably be ironic in itself if it were true...
