Why would Merchant lie to us?

There's really no reason you could think off?

There can be reasons but it explains how she hates her parents and how she distrusts men. Also I dont think you can lie about something like that.

Over the internet, anything is possible.
The only way you'd have touble to pull something like this off, would be face to face.

But well, it's none of my business.

Now if everyone put there arguments forward like that instead of "TROLLS! ZOMG STFU!" the internet would be a lot less cruddy.

I applaud you, good sir.

Ohgodwhat.

That must have been awful. It's a damn shame those people didn't get punished, either. Ugh.

I there may be people that can, but I'm going to choose to trust her in this case. Call me naïve if you want.

Okay so I just gotta add reading that made me sad today. Especially since it makes some things make more sense, and that I personally have been through hell myself, not to mention my sister said I apparently avoided something similar to a part of that... But spotty memory. Bluh.

Both of you.
I should have said nothing.
My anger got the better of me.
As it might be true, what she said, my comment may have been hurtful.

Sorry MoM, I didn't intend to.
Have this song, it's calming.

Nah, you phrased it nicely, and it's fair enough of you to be suspicious... It's also one of the reasons I was so reluctant to publically post that.

No harm done =)

Anger? Well, emotions do get us at times. Still, I try not to bring it on here. And there are times when your point will be valid. An accident really.

That's really terrible, Merchant, and I've nothing else to say except a useless "I'm so sorry", because there's nothing I can say. I can't even remotely imagine.

I don't try to do that either.
But well a bit of self-identification, some people I got to know (I've been friends with rape victims)...
You know how quickly you can slip into saying something you didn't want to.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
