The Witcher hasn't got it's own thread in 'Other games'.
That's sad, because it's a very interesting game.

I'll probably make one myself, after I've played it some more.

I finished reading the last witcher book about two weeks ago. Downer ending.

Is the series any good?
I'm considering reading it.
Might be a good chance to polish up my polish again

Unless, of course, you buy the "expansion pack" as the devs put it, thus letting you no doubt get some bogus item that renders death uneffective on you.
There's really an expansion pack?  Because I've met one of the staff members and had them rant on about how bad micropayments are.

No. They call the actually game an "expansion pack". It isn't an expansion pack if it's advetized at every corner, devs!
(Can't find the actual quote now.)

Playing Amnesia, sneaking through room, monster saw me, quit without saving.

Never quit a game because it was too scary before.

My interest is peaked, have to try this out if it's like Clock Tower or Haunting Grounds.

It's an extremly atmospheric game, effectivly makes me jump/scares me. haven't heard of those too but they sound interesting enough to go and look at.

There are like 4 Clock Tower games, the first one for the SNES is definitely my favorite.  The second for the PS1 is pretty good, but the English voice actors are so corny.  The third and fourth ones I don't know what they were thinking.  Haunting Grounds was suppose to be the next Clock Tower game, but that was scrapped and what they had to use was made into Haunting Grounds.  My favorite 3D "Clock Tower" game if you can all it that, because the gameplay is very similar.

Personally I loved it, for it's no-nonsensical and internally coherent approach to the idea of fantasyland, likable, yet terribly flawed characters, and moral grayness permeating everything.
The world also feels quite different from the standard D&D fare, with slavic-mythology touches throughout it's bestiary.
And it's written very well too.

Still, I might be quite a bit biased, as this was the series that I read when I was a decade younger, and not yet very much jaded by the exposure to all the subsequent novels that I read, and well, life.

I'm sad that so many people in the beer thread either don't know what beer is or how to read topic titles.

What does the monster look like?  Does it look like anything?

Amnesia is definitely scarier than Penumbra. I eventually gave up on Requiem when it autosaved mid-death.

I think I would remember if I had amnesia.
I'd like to remind everyone that half of the time I don't even know what I'm talking about. The other half of the time I only sort of know what I'm talking about.

They're too drunk to tell the difference.
