Despite the fact that it is a Friday, and I want nothing better than to laze around the house for the rest of the evening, my dad is making the entire family to go to his company's christmas party. I might not object, except that there is nothing to do, there is only one person I know who might be there, and about an hour passes between people sitting down at the tables and the main course being served. Grrr.

Is hunting more deer not an option?

GUN season? Oddly specific. Does that mean that there's a bow and arrow season as well or something?

Ah, I see. Well, there are places that sell farmed deer, apparently, although I've never heard of such a thing before Google brought it to my attention.

I just sort of assumed anything huntable is also domesticated for said purpose. Not precisely the same, of course, but presumably pretty close.

There is, but it's earlier in the year.

Finals are starting soon, but I've hardly studied because the doctor commands so much of my time. Granted, I can hardly complain because making sure I'm not dying is very important, but I'm usually at the doctors for three hours each day right now.

If they're really bothering you that much, then lower their examination time. You are the one in control, as patient, of what the doctors can and cannot do.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I'm not insisting anything. I'm just making sure we're all aware that doctors are never in total control of an individual's treatment, as is so often forgotten.

I would end up with a pet deer.  I'd put a collar on it, and keep it in a real big yard with a super tall fence.  I'd never have to mow, and the yard would always be perfect for croquet.

Until the balls get stuck in the deer poop. And your colleagues playing with you die from lyme disease.

Then hire someone to de-poo the lawn.
probably would be the right height for golf putting practice, too.
