I'm awake at 5 AM.  I wanted to get to work early.

...This is becoming a habit.

Also, I can't pronounce the word "flamethrower," it tends to come out "flamethower"

Better than famethrower.

First exam tomorrow, one of my politics classes. I know that I know the material pretty well, but the only work we've been assigned this semester was an essay a few months ago (which didn't really follow the course material so much as 'pick some random topic under a few conditions') and this coming exam; I haven't really been tested on the material at all. Sure, I think I'm preparing well, but I don't feel confident about anything :\

It appears (no pun intended) I can't make my avatar show up correctly. Can anyone else see it?

I always felt like that. I almost always ended up being prepared enough as well. Similarly, many of the times I felt I had everything under control I ended up with worse grades. Nothing like a little bit of insecurity to improve your results. ;)

Just cultivate a lisp.  Thwamethwower is clearly superior.

Maybe... but the teacher doesn't respond to emails, never posted the lecture notes on his website like he said he would after each class, and hasn't really told us what this is even going to be on. The only thing I know is that there will be seven essay topics in the exam and I have to choose and write two of them. So right now I'm basically reading an entire textbook in the hopes that somehow I will absorb all its knowledge that way (only 379 pages to go!). And since I tend to have like two or three essays a week but no exams or tests, my study habits have seriously weakened over the last few years, so I'm worried that I'm not even retaining anything.

And yeah, your avatar's visible to me.

Well, that's a bit for the worse. Hallmarks of a sucky teacher. I hope you get through tomorrow okay despite his best efforts.
