IPs can be spoofed with relative ease

(not saying that TMOM is doing this or that the inquisition should continue. Just saying that ip-looking is not a foolproof measure)

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

We were moving stuff into the van so we could haul it to the landfill when we dropped a box of shingles. Our dog was at our heels because little sister let him out without knowing we were working, so one of his paws got struck. I don't think it's broken, but all I need to hear is that yelping noise to have my heart instantly shattered. Poor puppy.

And Merchant of Menace should probably have the acronym of MoM, as it works on multiple levels here.

POOR PUPPY D:  On the other hand, our dog goes into a horrifying yelping frenzy whenever he's excited.  You get home YELP YELP YELP you'd think he just got neutered without anesthesia.  Our neighbors have left notes and called the local animal cruelty place on us because they think he's so mistreated.  ):  Vet trips have confirmed that there's absolutely nothing wrong with him, he's just a weird little herpderp.

...Extra extra points to Merchant of Menace if she happens to be a master of magic.

Granted the puppy does get into a similar state whenever the dogs he plays with are in the neighbors yard across the street and he's in our yard, sounding like he's excreting his bones and tearing at the gate to get to the other dogs. And then happy happy fun times. He managed to undo the latch to the gate, a chain we wrapped around the gate and a bungee cord. But now we have a mountain-climbing link thing we use with the chain, so he can't get out.
 Probably.

My mastiff learned how to unlock and open the screen door, and could also open regular knobbed doors as long as the door opened away from the side he was on.

Weird. It just happened to me and I had to log back in. I guess it's nothing.
