Popped it out to look at it, and no obvious damage. When I put it back and started the computer up again the monitor didn't get any input.

Update on the wind situation:
Forty+ mph.
Part of my fence fell over.
Power and/or internet likely to die on me.

Is it usually windy like that? You sound like you need a kite to fly. Like, a big one.

Oh God I put what I had on paper into the computer and it only added up to 3/4th of a page.

Shit.

I have a dragon kite from Bali.
Problem is, this is much too stormy for kites.
I should get some string and take that thing out some day when it's not so rough.

Stormy as in lightning? Might want to unplug electronics and read a book or something, man.

None of the copacitors are damaged, so I may be safe from that. But if it doesn't start when I add it again I'll place the final nail in the coffin and start searching for graphics cards.
Bluh bluh. I'm just bummed over this because the weekend for me just started, the end of the semester is here so I need to study online and I have half a paper completed in this hard drive. Everything will suffer because of this, and not just my entertainment.

Edit: got it to boot again, so I'll try uninstaling the drivers and see what happens.

The rain is like needles and the sky is black as pitch.
No lightning tonight, so far.

I don't know how long I have till I just disappear. But rest assured anything and everything is trying so hard to make me miserable.
I'm an everything and I'm not trying to make you miserable. In fact, I'm trying to cheer you up! I hope your laptop woes are fixed promptly.

Procrastination is thrilling, at least. On Sunday I emailed my professor a question I had: "What is this 'chapter 11 project' that's being referred to in the lecture?". It turns out that the Chapter 11 Project had been assigned way back on day two of the quarter, and I had just forgotten about it. I got his return mail at 8:55 PM, and the assignment was due at midnight that day. It involved four pages of work including three detailed spreadsheets and sources cited from all across the intertoobs. I turned it in at 11:43 PM, having typed and researched constantly for almost three hours. I got a 98%, the highest in the class. I must work better under pressure, or something.

Pfaugh.

Another late night writing, I guess.
