That's tough to hear. How old are you and your god-daughter? I hope you're old and wise enough to be able to get through this situation.

The moment the sun was bright enough to see outside I went to town on those wet leaves, until it started raining. I got the backyard done, so only the front remains.

This is good because the leaves are no longer Serious Business to my parents, and I can finish them after my work weekend. It's also good to be not stupid tired. I'll be stressed until Monday, but today will be more mellow.

I'm pretty sure that's a symptom of PTSD.

And WorkerDrone... That's rough, man. And I can really identify with the god child there, really makes me remember what could've happened five years ago. How old is she? It'd be horrible if she was really young.

I'd like to remind everyone that half of the time I don't even know what I'm talking about. The other half of the time I only sort of know what I'm talking about.

Jeez, WorkerDrone.  That's pretty tough.  I remember being pretty worried when that first message came along but damn.  I hope things work out and you can make a difference in your godchild's life.

Now I'm all depressed and stuff. Note to Self: Never read the sad thread in the morning.

So. Where to start.

Aside from her being your god daughter, why did you vie for custody against her grandparents? Also, what is the prognosis on your leg? I hope that everything works out the best way it can, given the situation... it sounds like the start to a lot of new things.

Here's wishing you strength and luck.

I hope all that works out... Somehow.

If things stablize, I'm still around. But honestly, if you just can't come on anymore, at this point I'd understand.

I'm just keeping on what keeps on.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
