If you need a break from sets, might I suggest SET?

Thanks, but I think I just need to go clean house or something.

It is so goddamned stressful to cook for yourself when you don't know what-all sort of foodstuffs are in the house, where they're hidden, or how to tell when they're ripe.  I have eaten three eggs today, two apples, and four slices of bread.

Does that look like a balanced diet?  Does it?  But no, I don't know how to cook or select greens, and I am a flailing git who can barely keep the house from burning down!  And I'm currently ignoring cold food, because I am stubbornly keeping the heat off.  Because I'm a dork.

Getting your life in gear is difficult, at times.

Some inspiration here, maybe? I also now own a copy of The Joy of Cooking, which makes me a veritable font of food-prep basics, like telling when stuff is ripe, and how to prepare it. It's a good reference for just about any cooking-related procedure ever, if you have one handy.

These sounded reasonably simple, and pretty tasty:
Apple Burgers
Cashew Chili
Black Bean Burgers

If motivation is trouble, try something new, and think of it as a learning process. If you're cooking for yourself for a few days too, cooking something nice today means leftovers tomorrow.

Yeah, thanks for the tips =)  I wouldn't say this is an inspiration problem so much as an "I'm having logistical problems and really just need to sit down, get myself organized, and figure out what I'm doing."

Motivation is mostly trouble because I look at what I have in the kitchen that needs to be used up, and it's a bunch of eggs, a bunch of apples, a bunch of bananas, a can of coconut milk, a bunch of tofu, lots of mushrooms, four squashes, a sweet potato, and two cans of crushed pineapple + pineapple juice.

Current plan: some kind of ungodly curry over rice, with omelette bits.

Will it taste good?  Probably not.  But it will use up a lot of stuff, and won't necessitate biking everywhere on my currently-bad knee to pick up ingredients.

I like cooking new stuff.  What I don't like is ingredient-fetchery, especially because my solution to excessive ingredients is "eat the same thing for a week and a half."

I see a lot of pumpkin in my future.

It's getting difficult to write or use the mouse. There is a strange spot between my bicep and tricep right next to the armpit that is acting up strangely. It's like a cramp but without the muscles tensing up. It also means I can't sleep. Hargleblargle. I guess this mean an all-nighter for this test tomorrow whether I want to or not.

Just finished the Kingdom Come LP.

That was depressing. Plus it's late now. Damn it...

Since my headphones broke, and my earbuds are too short to wear from the computer, my current sound system is using those earbuds as speakers and turning the volume way up.

I suddenly miss Berkeley.

why do I suddenly miss Berkeley? I spent like, 3 years there in total. that shouldn't be long enough to grow attached to a place, but it is.

I blame Vector.

A wolf going through the woods moves ______.  (1 point)

    * with awareness that it is a predator.
    * with the innocence of the wild.
    * in a distinctive way.
    * in the way of all mammals.

The fuck? What the hell is that supposed to mean?

WHY DID YOU HAVE ME KICK THEM WTF I DID NOT WANT TO BE SHOT AT.
I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.
