It's certianly possible, if not with Telnet then with NetCat. I've browsed the internet with NC before. It just takes serious skillz to be able to figure out what the hell you're doing from the HTML tags that are being thrown at you.

For Classic, the mode I could always play? Sure. For Alpha, the mode I bought this game to play? Nope!
