So don't appear to have any arrows.  Or TNT.  Yeah, you might be in trouble.  If you really want down there, I suggest digging a stairway around the side, with a sword-hole so you can whack them one at a time.

If you don't have a sword, which I don't see on your belt there, then I hope you said goodbye to the sun, because you were doomed as soon as you left home.

I wasn't far from the surface. I just broke through onto a ledge with a lone mushroom, looked down and OH GOD.

I spent some time rerouting a spring to clear them away, but by the time I had got it to them, a skele and turned up and was trying to shoot me. He caused all the creepers to explode.

So... yeah.

Righteous, the moments we live for.  You went down there after that, right?  Supposedly, when a skeleton kills a creeper, it drops a record.  But it may have been destroyed by the subsequent explosions.

I just found rope, restraints and a whip in my mothers sex toy drawer.

I am asking myself lots of question.

The most important being Why would I open the sex toy drawer

:O

She told me not to look in the drawer.

What could I have done?
