Advanced Placement (And then Diabolus ninjaed me mid post). The "levels" of class in my school go, from lowest to highest: Academic, Honors, Advanced Placement, and International Baccalaureate. I'm not doing IB, because it requires a very exact and difficult program to do. Thus, I'm taking AP where I can and Academic where it's the only option for the class.

Anyway, the class is only a month old, and this is our first real project. So, her threat is a first here. I have little doubt she'll do it, given her past attitude towards us. My group will just have to put our time and effort into it and hope for the best. Heh. Yeah, right.

I guess she just wants to make sure nobody slacks off just because there is a sub and she is on vacation for a week.

Good for her, but that isn't going to help me when I get a bad grade because some random slacker doesn't care about his grade.

Find some way to make your project relate to collective punishment and talk about how only a real fascist would resort to it.  :P

yes, because that kind of thing will surely make her happy and not at all willing to lay down even more smack on your collective heads or your particular one.

The best part is that he spelled it Britian.

Nope, says education.  In your faces, lolamerica crowd.  Cuba shooting eight ranks up the ladder is a little disturbing though.  I for one welcome our new cubano overlords?

Well, it IS from a few years ago.

Singapore shooting up 40 places (the largest of any of them) is a bit wierd in itself, but we don't have any background for why that happened.

Cuba has universal socialized education up to university level. It's not really that surprising.

Bah. I love math, but proofs are EVIL.

Ex: prove that 3x+1 is even if and only if x is odd.

It's ridiculously easy to see that it's true... but proving it is something else entirely.

That actually seems rather trivial, unless the theorems involved are inexplicably obtuse.

3 is odd, if x is even then 3x is even, and an even number plus one is odd.

If x is odd, then 3x is odd, and an odd number plus one is even.

Presumably were something like that asked, then you'd have been told of the relevant theorems to organize it more formally.

Basically, but you're being rather informal about the whole mess.
