Hell yeah I would want to go at 6am, it's always better to start things in the morning instead of dragging around waiting for school to start.
That does make sense. I wouldn't mind having start even earlier either, maybe at six or seven.

You guys are all crazy.  Children need a regular vacation.  Gives them something to look forward to.  Not to mention, it saves quite a bit of money in most American schools, since they don't have to run the air-conditioning during summer, which I think is how summer-vacation actually started.  Seven-eight hour school days were perfectly fine to me as long as you change classes every hour or so.  What else were you going to do for a couple hours?
I find myself counting teeth because I'm so bored, school gives me something to do.

I see two problems with going to school in the summer, during the hottest part of the day.

One, the heat. Self explanatory really. My school has no windows, and air conditioning isn't cheap.

Two, you have 20+ (depending on school) people stuffed into a small room for an hour straight, in the middle of summer during the hottest part of the day, need I say more?

Actually, you're all wrong. Summer vacation originally existed so children could help plant fields.

WHY DID YOU HAVE ME KICK THEM WTF I DID NOT WANT TO BE SHOT AT.
I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.

Don't start that up again here.

I'm sad that there's all these new lower-forumgoers around.

... I don't like change.

Also, while it's remiss of me to bring up the subject mentioned in a thread that was toadylocked-
Spoiler: Controversial topic (click to show/hide)

I'm going to bed.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

Well they aren't forumites.

They're just here. They 'go' here. 'Forumgoers'.

What forum? The lower B12 Forum

Lower-Forumgoers.

Woke up exhausted. You just know it's not going to be a good day when you're ready to go to bed for eight hours before you get out of bed:'(

Sweden (primary and gymnasium) has 2 months of summer vacation, a few weeks (2-3 or thereabout)of winter vacation, 1 week autumn vacation, another week early spring vacation, and a halfweek-oneandahalfweek of easter vacation, depending on how the holidays hit the schedule.

On the other hand, we need all the sun we can get, lest we suffer from lack of vitamin d and our children be born autistic.

Over the summer I went from about 40 days logged on b12 to 60. Which is about 480 hours of summer chillin', or a sixth of the summer. Wasn't sure whether to post this in happy or sad as it's more ambivalent, but figured I'd got here because I shouldn't be spending so much time on here. I blame you lot.

My thread got locked and I feel it's my fault for getting someone muted.

But that Toady pun was so worth it, hehehe.

It seems to be a rather muted incident, but that thread was sinking once the crazy talk started up.  :D

At the risk of letting myself ramble, I found myself in one of the worst places I can be today.

I like to think I'm a pretty intelligent guy.  I know damn well I'm not, what I am is good at convincing people who don't know what I'm talking about that I'm a lot smarter than I am.  I'm a charlatan, and I've almost given up on trying to be anything else.  Partly because the more I get out in the world, the more I realize that I'm hardly unique in that regard.  That there's plenty of people in the world who aren't nearly as smart as they appear or believe they are, they're just good at looking like it.

But it's not universal.  The problem with pretending to be competent, is that if you do a good enough job, eventually somebody's going to expect you to actually pull some smarts out of your ass.  And so I find myself, in a room full of intelligent people, discussing ideas that I know I can understand, that I should understand, but I don't.  And an opinion is expected of me.

And I have absolutely nothing to say.

Of course, the thing I should be sad about is that I would know what I'm talking about if I bothered to spend some time reading and studying like I know I should, but then I'd really have to blame myself.  I think I'm going to delete Stalker or something, I need to get in gear here.
