My Dad's worse thing is usually when he mocks my hobbies or life style.
Tell him that he is only doing that because he feels inadequate due to his advancing age.
It's because he's proud of me and is jealous of my secrets.

Linear algebra was required for my major.  I dropped it like... four times, and finally passed right before graduation.  Horrible class.

To tell you the truth, I hate linear algebra like the plague.  I'm actually going to retake it when I go back to college... blech.  Why did I have to remember?  Whyyyyy

Huh. I liked that class. Probably my favorite math class so far, apart from calculus.

Proofs weren't very elegant, and notation was explosive =/

I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.

I did hate the proofs... but then again, I hate all proofs. I'm terrible about leaving steps out.

What, they don't let you do that yet?  Huh.  I was allowed to say "trivially" and "obviously" by my third semester.

I took linear algebra freshman year. I'm only starting my third semester in a couple weeks.

Yeah, I see.  We had two lalgebra courses: one with numbers, and one abstract.  I took the former 2nd semester and the latter 3rd, along with an analysis course from hell.

My dog died. Not much of a shocker, but still. Every day when I walked up, I would see her laying there, and it always scared me that she was dead, but she would get up, or at least half-way up. We could tell walking was painful, but there wasn't much we could do outside of euthanizing her, and she was on the way out anyways.

So today, as I was walking up, I noticed her absence, and I just kind of knew that she was gone.

Rest in peace Ruby.

All this talk about dads makes my dad sound boring. I thought having an insanely patriotic dad that loves swearing, hates anything that makes his precious israel look bad, and spams cliché jokes was extraordinary. :-(

Rest in peace Ruby.
Condolences man. It really sucks to hear these things.
