Don't Michigan freeze during winter?
Yes. Fun fact: There is a town in Michigan named Hell.

Up to a few hundred feet out from the beach, yes. Frequently. And then the wind kicks up to a fucking gale force wind.

And they think walking in that is relaxing. Uh no. It's cold and shitty.

If you don't see snow in Michigan during winter, hell has frozen. and I don't mean the town.

Thats why I was so confused when people started freaking out over just several inches of snow down here in one of the states near DC. It wasn't That much snow.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Silly east and west coasters, with their temperate climates!

I remember one year in Tennessee, they closed the entire town of Chattanooga for 1/4" of snow. Hilarious.

Ha yeah, a few years ago the whole country went insane because it snowed in Jerusalem, people obviously had to cancel their jobs and stuff. It was like five cms of snow. I had friends driving over to "play" in the snow.

That's why you have skates! Ain't nothing better than a good day's skating. Makes your feet and ankles bleed as well, so you know you did not imagine it.

Well one, I suck at ice skating.

And two, because Lake Michigan actually has some tides, the ice out there tends to break up and look like glacier ice, jutting up as high as 10 to 15 feet in the air above the water in big, shattered chunks.

Not exactly ideal for ice skating, or for avoiding broken ankles.

I am quite good at ice skating, but then again I'm French Canadian so I'm suppose to be good at crap like that obviously.

Are you saying the lake actually freezes over? The whole damn lake?

No no, it's way too deep and not cold enough for that.

But a few dozen yards out from the shore line, it's solid ice pack, and tides wash up over and build yet more ice. So by mid-winter, there's like a crazy ass wall of glacier-like ice ringing the whole lake. The only stopping me from climbing out there for fun is the threat of being crushed by a ton or so shifting ice pack.
