I work at a State Police department near by; Today I found out the lieutenant in charge of the station watches Jerry Springer most of the time in her office. She "Loves" that show. I've never felt more unsafe while having a police department literally 2 miles down the road.

I thought there was a test she'd have to take; something that would evaluate applicants' tastes among as well as aptitude.

It's not exactly a stutter. So much so as I say the wrong words. It's totally confusing and probably related to my head injury.

Though I don't understand why I can still type just fine. And how sometimes I can go months without turning into a functional mute.

I totally mumble, but that's hard to tell from me typing.

I used to stutter, and sometimes I still do. More in Hebrew than in English. It used to piss me off that I couldn't put a sentence together without sounding like a complete idiot. Pausing between every few words to take a quick breath and think of what exactly am I going to utter helps.

Yeah... when I was a kid, I stuttered so badly I was basically incapable of speech.  After a while, I managed to (mostly) fix that, but I still have trouble holding onto the parts of my mental machinery that translate my internal thought into comprehensible words.  It doesn't help that when I solve problems, I usually have to manually turn off the translation devices =/  Then when I try to speak, the stutter comes back big-time.

Hopefully you'll find a workaround that's good for you, Janet... good luck.

My voice has two speeds: Mumble at High Velocity (stupid time spent in upstate NY *fistshake*.) and Death Metal Scream. A lot of times when I work, people have to ask me to repeat myself or think I'm hispanic. :(

I occasionally record my own voice so I can listen to it. I love it.

Also I make out with myself in the mirror and am generally an insufferable douchebag.

Okay, some of that isn't true.

I'm sorry, did you complement me and then act like you did something wrong?

I will find you and speak at you in order to hear my own voice.

e: oh I see, I thought you were saying it was the last part that wasn't true.

Death metal is growling.  Black metal is rasping, screaming is for hardcore and emo.

Gentelmen, please. As long as the vile forces of Hip-Hop and Rap still exist, Metal and Rock must work together to fight them. We can kill each other over that conflict later.

That leaves Country and Classical in sort of a bind, doesn't it? I mean, not that anyone cares about country.

Depends. I love Australian and New Zealand country (folk? New Zealand is pretty much all country, it's that small) but I don't care for the American style. Classical is good, but classical exists in a separate dimension where people never talk about the fact that they enjoy classical.

It's basically this dimension except that Eddy Murphy is actually funny.
