Really? Do you live in Aus, because our History channel is an endless parade of World War Two series. Although a few days ago it was about Hannibal and traveling the ocean in a rebuilt Viking longship, both of which were pretty interesting, actually.

Well, it depends on the cable package you have. I know the one we've got we get the shitty history channel that Dakk was talking about, with occasional bits of R. Lee Ermey yelling about guns. If you upgrade to the next step on the cable channel ladder you get the second history channel (the one about World War Two) and the military channel, which renders the original purpose of the history channel totally inert.

And what the fuck does Pawn Stars have to do with anything on the history channel!?

syfy: Pronounced "Siffee."

And yeah, history channel was bad enough when they added ice truckers and axemen*; now they have a Survivor: Gun Show Edition and Pawn Morons and other shows aimed at the lowest dregs of society.

*That said, despite never watching the show, I did get some enjoyment out of axemen when I read about them getting busted for illegal logging practices, filming them, and putting them on national tv. Lol.

The history channel has been all about aliens, monsters and apocaliptical stuff for a while now, to the point it shouldn't even be called history channel anymore, it should instead be called /x/enophily channel. Even the only marginaly interesting show they have now, the battle of the gods thing, decays toward the end when they start comparing mythology to christianity in a way to make christianity look superior. Seriously, watch the one about Hades, they literally ramble about how Jesus totally pwn hades, using a serious tone, it was hilarious.

Also, the aliens in past thing? Juts take a look at the kind of "specialists" they interviewed. Hint: It includes some writer with a wacky haircut and a horrid tanning job that ends all of his lines with "that's spooky/amazing/incredible!", the guy from their UFO show that apparently sees anything somewhat unusual about anything as proof that aliens are everywhere, and that old guy who sees proof of ancient alien astronauts in every engraved piece of rock he sees.

And the Sci Fi channel still has star trek: TNG, so its still worth something.

My dad eats that shit up like a cow, he believes it all. I guess because he found chariots of the gods when he was 14 in the library. He believes that aliens started the human race. My opinion on it is a mix of Rage and Laughter. I think hes trolling me.

Hey, at least it put a stop to impromptu roomquest time.

Okay, sad thing.  I need to write a paper in Spanish.  I cannot concentrate enough to work on it.  I can't concentrate because I'm tired.  I have to work on it now, but I'm only able to work if I sleep.

Why, why do we need to sleep?  What purpose do you serve sleep, except to suck away a third of my life?

http://neuroskeptic.blogspot.com/2009/09/why-do-we-sleep.html
It is also apparently for keeping one's mind in an orderly fashion; basically shutting it down for maintenance.
If it was just so that we'd have something to do during the nights without consuming energy, we'd be able to go around 24/7 as long as we ate enough.
Or something.

Thanks for the advice guys, I didn't expect so much of a response. :)

And if you are disgusted by the bull stuff they serve, eat Japanese/Korean. Worst they have is dog stew, I think.
