You have extra slots for that, actually.

I can't seem to find where the RAM chips would go, do I need special laptop RAM?

This is not a new computer at all. I only recently obtained it. It's actually pretty old. 5-7 years old, maybe.

I'd like to remind everyone that half of the time I don't even know what I'm talking about. The other half of the time I only sort of know what I'm talking about.

I don't know if this is just some kind of antihumor or what, but it's not necessarily too old.  I just replaced my 5-year-old Thinkpad's memory.

Yes, laptops use much smaller RAM chips.  Google your computer's model number + "replace ram".

None of my laptops have been able to add extra RAM to.

That being,
5 or so year old HP
3 or so year old can't re-call the brand right now
1 or so year old HP

How'd you know this?  Maybe your computers came from the factory with the maximum amount of RAM?  HP has a nice guide here for determining whether you already have the max amount of RAM.

I had an Emachines M6805. It actually had the smaller ram chip inside a panel on the bottom, along with the battery, the wireless NIC, and the HD. Had a math coprocessor too, lasted 6 years and probably still isn't obsolete.

I dunno, you guys have survived Thomas the tank engine, golems, zombies, nuclear explosions, laser whales, and being on the same team as ragnarock.  I don't think something as tame as a world ending rain of lava will even slow you guys down.

I was told by customer service when I wanted to upgrade my laptops.

That the new .07 version caught a wierd bug immediately, and one that is gamekilling. Not sad, just slightly dissapointed, but thats the nature of bugs, right? They can pop up when you least expect it.

There's a new .07 version?? Where?

EDIT: DOH. Apparently, if Toady doesn't add a paragraph of text to an item, I'm thoroughly blind to it. *facepalm*

What's the bug, and should I bother downloading it to replace .06?

DOUBLE EDIT: Ooh. That's a nasty one. Guess I'll hold off.

è_é I hate tourist season. Or simply, today, work sucked.

Then again, it could be worse; I could still be working at my last jobs.

Any foreigner that has a hard time with English, I don't mind too much. I at least try to keep things simple and give them a little more leeway than annual visitors, or those that are acting touristy, despite living locally.

This is true. I'm sorry, Asian forum members, but a huge amount of the Asians I see here are shocking drivers. I mean, I can see why (I've seen what the roads are like in Bali) but that doesn't change the fact that you don't change lanes on a busy road without indicating when you clearly have no space. And there's a truck right there.

ARGH.
