I get chickenpox every few months.  It's really annoying and for some reason it's always around my hips and upper legs.  Oh well.

Won't that leave you impotent if it happens at a certain age?

That sounds more like herpes.

Past 30, I think?

Actually, I don't know. Probably should go look it up.

Yes, yes, Ein.  It's herpes.  It was a joke.  I have no STDs.

Need to stop playing Civ 4 all day.  Shouldn't I be writing a book already?

yesterday a very friendly kitten strayed into our house, and we fed it some scraps.

It returned tonight at 2 am and my dogs killed it :(

Your dogs take a pretty strong stance against welfare, huh?

Seriously, if that kitten had a job, this wouldn't have happened.

Hi!

I suppose as a dog catcher, right?
(^_^;;
But it just confirms why I hate dogs.

Janet: Don't let this get to you. As was already said, it was probably a case where a vivid dream messed up your memory. It happens occasionally and does not mean you are broken or anything. Sure, it is very unpleasant and difficult to forget, but you should rejoice in the death not being real. Don't worry.

Armok: While I agree that people getting banned is a sad thing, I have to disagree with you stance on banning. If people broke real life laws, you wouldn't need banning, because you call the cops and have them arrested - so they will not be online anymore anyway. Banning is the way the internet polices itself.

In the case of a personal homepage/site like Toady One's, a comparison to a party at a house is my favorite view: This site is like a big party Toady One is throwing, inviting everyone who cares to join the fun. Banning someone means kicking them out of the party. And would you not want to throw out people who are ruining the good time for the other guests?

And in general, I can only advice against discussing individual moderator and administrator actions in public: You create confusion and fear among the community as rumors and speculations about unfair behavior and the like abound. If you have a problem with a decision, contact the person who did it via PM or e-mail, or, if you feel that would cause additional trouble/misunderstandings, contact an administrator.

There used to be a bunny that lived in my yard.  I got it to trust me enough that it would eat out of my hand and let me pet it.

My sister's cat killed it.

Just confirms why I hate cats.

DAMN YOU WINDOWS KEY!!!!

I was making a buttload of progress in my game of Stranded II, first island still, but it was going great. I had my little camp setup, a storehouse WIP, a wheat, cherry, and grape farm growing around my camp site. I was getting plenty of level ups (fishing farming and hunting), and then just as my game was auto-saving upon loading the next day, I hit the Windows key by accident and it glitches to hell.

As if my wheat field being attacked by locusts wasn't bad enough, the entire island went buggy. Many of the rocks around my site and even the spring I setup camp near were missing, all my crops disappeared, and there is no way to undo it all. an hour and a half's progress gone.  :'(

Fortunately, I still have a nearby enough save, so I can setup some of my crops at an earlier time and reap in benefits at a better time. Recovery shouldn't be too bad.

On the bright side, I know more of the interesting nuances of the game (I made myself some cookies), and I haven't gotten into the modding stuff yet.

I pulled-out the windows key on my previous keyboard and my current one has an off switch, though I am sorely tempted to pull this one out too. It just doesn't feel right, and I for one don't need an extra key just so that I don't need to press control and escape at the same time...

Windows makes me sad every day...

Dogs kill cats, cats kill bunnies, cars kill everything, just confirms why I hate life. We need to hurry up and convert ourselves into atomic-powered super-robots!
