Well, I've completed my laborious separation of files I've already backed up and files that need archiving.  This is a sad process, partly because I managed to spend twelve hours on it, and now need to get a couple hours sleep before stuff happens today.  But mostly because any attempt at perusing and archiving my old stuff is a walk back in time, since I've been carting some of these files between computers for more than a decade.  Some of it is old projects, or stuff from friends, or just reminders of what I used to consider important.  And I'm a pretty sentimental person, so just seeing old stuff that used to be important conjures up all these memories of times past and spent, and it makes me feel bad.

But whatever.  I've got in all squared away and saved, which is itself a good thing.  And maybe, just maybe, after I reformat and wipe my harddrive, I'll finally knock out whatever is screwing up my connectivity and I can finally use Rosetta Stone and Steam and all this other great stuff I haven't been able to use.

I dislike my desktop. I was about to play Black & White 2 for the first time since I got it(several years ago, when my computer had less memory.) and when I started it, I was all excited to play, but then I got punched in the face when it says it can't play because my graphics card doesn't have pixel shader 1.1. D:

Try updating your graphics card, that should do it. Go to the graphic card manufacturers site as they'll have the very latest update for it.
