you must drink a lot of water... or watered down alcohol, hangovers are caused by dehydration. Alcohol tends to not hydrate you despite being quite wet.
yeah, this. Alcohol dehydrates you in two ways, at least. Drinking lots of water before going to bed will save you from most of the hangover effects. Afterwards will probably help, too.

Aspirin is probably a bad idea, though. You don't want to harm your stomach.

Also, watch how much you're pissing out.
Urinating out too much water is one of the biggest causes of hangovers.
Stopping yourself, however, is not an easy task, but very useful.

eeh. Yes and no. Most of the water lost is through urine, as alcohol inhibits ADH. But the reabsorbtion and secretion of water happens at the kidney, and is not a volitive process, nor is it affected significatively by not emptying your bladder.

Besides, I don't think water in the bladder is being used nor that having urin in it is going to stop more from coming.

but needing to pee keeps you awake for longer which means you don't go to sleep which means something something.

if you are drunk enough it might well mean you will pee on yourself.

Tonights drinking is bought to you by: The Polish Wall Calvary, because getting charged was never so much fun!

Edit Sadness: I'm so bored tonight, I should load up ETW or something but I can't be arsed right now, just meh.

And if you pee on yourself, when you wake up in the morning, you'll immediately have a shower! Or you'll get bundled into the shower that night! Showers are good for hangovers!

Supposedly in WW2 the polish cavalry charged the panzers because they were drunk and had been told they were made of cardboard.

Sounds like an urban legend, though. I suspect it is more likely that they had nothing else to throw at them, and hadn't fought tanks before (and thus being unaware of the consequences of charging armored machinegun platforms on horseback)

I find that very doubtful.  I'm sure the Poles encountered armored warfare in some form during their war with Ukraine.  If nothing else, armored cars, wagons, and gun-trains had already seen plenty of use in Poland before WW2.  Probably they were just desperate and figured it was death-or-glory time.

I heard about that. If I remember correctly it was because they were in fact trying to rout infantry and along the way were intercepted by German armored cars and massacred. The story of them charging into a battalion of tanks whilst drunk was the rather clever subsequent German propaganda.

We still had cavalry.

And a few tanks. Very few.
