in less strenuous sads, i got greedy and lost about 2 hours of playtime (and 1.5 million credits) by getting blowed up before cashing out of a war zone in El Dangeroso

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I am currently on take number eight of the second-to-last video in my tutorial series. They were all good takes, until the point where I was interrupted at a pivotal moment. The entire course is due the day after tomorrow, and I have a major final the day after that. And I just realized that I'm unclear what tax circumstance my oDesk employment puts me in.

$500 in the hole, have fixed my computer.
Make sure it runs, take to my room, plug everything in.
Dead.
Again.

Might have a suicide component or something.

I hate being reminded how little I actually matter at work.

You and me both.

With my crippling insecurity, I don't even think I'm doing anything worthwhile at all.

In the meantime, festering with indecision.

My best adventurer in the new version of DF just died. :'(
The best by far. At least it was a pretty good death.

And of course the hand carry can't fucking go the way it's supposed to.

4:30 am, and I'm still waiting on a response from the messenger that was supposed to be standing by.

Is there a description for random crushing feelings of dread, coupled with the need to regulate your breathing and the desire to curl into a ball or run back to your flat, just for going for your weekly food shop? Or any other time you leave the flat?

Asking for a friend.

...No, no the friend is me. Seriously, had no major triggers that  I can think could do that so...why brain why? 0_o

You might have Hikkikomori or something. Also Hikkikomori isn't the real term for it but whatever.

I'm fine when I'm with people or actually at the destination and doing something, it just seems to be the travel times where it happens. I just push through it, so it's not like it's really impeding with my life significantly anyway. Just an odd thing that's started happening.

Maybe it's just a Seasonal Affective thing. Though I've never experienced SAD before...or at least, never noticed it before.

This sounds like the definition of panic attacks. They don't necessarily need triggers and can be totally random. Have you been experiencing this repeatedly or just this once? It was a bit unclear in the post.

It's happened a few times now in the last week when going to random places, like I said I usually just force myself to go on until it goes away.

I woke up late today(survivable, but less time for bay 12).
~~~
I've been studying psychology recently and that does sound like panic attacks.
Although, to my knowledge, typically it's not the sort of thing you can fight.
Yeah I'm reluctant to call them panic attacks. I was phobic of dogs when I was younger, I've had full-blown-hyperventilating-tears-blind-terror-phobia-induced panic attacks and...they were on a whole other level of 'nope'. This is just an odd episode when walking around, I can actually regulate my breathing and ignore the part of my brain that's all "no seriously just crawl into the fetal position over there".
