I wouldn't expect anything less from Yoink.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Over at my parents' place to do some laundry, since my apartment doesn't have a washer/dryer, and thye have me run them to the store to pick up a "backup" case of beer so they don't have to walk up if they run out. THe sad part is that I can't join in the fun since I have to work tonight (and have a 9-hour shift tomorrow night because of DST).

So I guess I'm going to my hometown early tomorrow instead of this afternoon, or tonight.
Paralyzing anxiety :-\  In this case, completely without rationale.  Not nearly so bad as it used to be, at least.  And I know better than to fall into a cycle of guilt anymore.  (Even if it means coming off as an unrepentant jerk sometimes).

Just a minor hiccup, everything's still fine.  Increment the mental "Maybe I should at least talk to a psychiatrist" counter, though.  When it reaches infinity, I might actually take meaningful action beyond willing myself better :P

...  If my subconscious manifests this as another fucking me-spectre nightmare tonight, I'm going to punch it in my face.  Or scream at it, see how it likes the tables turned!

It's started raining and doesn't show any signs of letting up. :(
Hopefully it's stopped well before 5pm.

What are you dressing as, Tack?

Telamonian Ajax.
Except nobody is gonna get it, so I guess I'm going as a spartan.

Basically I need to sew a tunic and find something which I'll be able to cut into a halfhearted breastplate.
I've already got the helmet and whatnot.

Carry a can of cleaner with you. Say that you've come to fight grease.

And in unrelated news, I added about a shot of homemade vanilla extract to this eggnog, and it's just about tolerable.
But then it curdled. The surface is now a greasy custard bobbing atop a thin, unappetizing fluid.

Carry a can of cleaner with you. Say that you've come to fight grease.
You, however, I like.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I'm waiting for my bank card to be mailed. I've been waiting a week and it isn't here and this is a mild bother.

Darnit internet why did you have to tell me about Kingdom Death. Now I can only weep at the price tag.

The rather questionable art and design choices aside, its gameplay sounds like monster hunter, dark souls, darkest dungeon, xcom, and dwarf fortress all rolled into one. ;_;

I was recently running SFX for a team in a drama competition. They did a comedy version of the Trojan War.

"Yeah, I hear a lot of things about Ajax! We say he's very strong; stronger than dirt!"

Why are you making eggnog before Hallowe'en?

I think a better question would be, "Why aren't you making eggnog on every day of the year?"
