I actually have vomited blood. It was a couple of hours after coming out of the sleepy stuff for a pretty intense dental surgery. Still not my most intense session of vomiting (that was from the sheer pain of a kidney stone) but it ranks up there. Probably second worst session overall in terms of freaking me out?

I can't imagine how much I'd panic if I vomited blood. I cough blood occasionally, and that traumatizes me back to bed.

It did help that I was sort of still out of it at the time. I was still a little bit disembodied by the drugs, and so only the novelty of the situation keeps it memorable.

My nose has bled so many times that it's naught but a common nuisance now, probably due to thin skin and/or veins close to the surface in the wall of my left nostril. Over the course of the years, i've probably bled out more blood through my nose than what could reasonably fit in my cardiovascular system. Thank goodness for replenishment. :v

Vomit, though? Well, i'm kind of emetophobic after a nasty round of food poisoning, where i was afflicted by violent and uncontrollable vomiting/retching and diarrhea for 8 hours, including gradual start and stop. I'm so worried about it that i can worry my way to nausea and puke from that, even though all that's physiologically going on is no worse than moderate constipation. Irritable bowel syndrome is not contributing positively to that particular vicious circle. But, at least i'm starting to notice a pattern by now. Most symptoms i feel from it generally don't mean anything more than discomfort, and oddly enough, many of them go away if i eat. Sadly though, i gotta be careful with spicy foods, fizzy drinks and alcohol, because they can make it worse. :<

Vomiting blood? Never tried it, would probably have an actual panic attack and faint shortly afterwards due to a feedback loop. Then i'd probably drown in my own blood vomit if people weren't around to prevent that.
