Bleeding profusely from the sinuses for 3 hours is not fun. The consequences the next morning of that and most of it draining into the stomach even less so.
How did that even happen!?
That is just SO unfortunate...

Consequences of elevation/humidity change, probably. I went from down near the coast (California) up to way into the continent (Idaho).

Are you vacationing in Idaho?
Also, which kind of soda? Do you mean Coke, or actual baking soda?

Mountain dew, since that's what we have. I'm visiting ailing grandparents in Idaho.

Jesus fuck, dude. Altitude sickness hit you hard. 0.o
I remember having nose bleed problems moving back from Iowa, but not nearly that bad.
Here's hoping you can adapt to it.

It's not as bad as it sounds. A whole bunch of blood drained into my stomach and formed coagulated clumps there, and they don't want to stay down. It's not fresh blood.

It's not fresh blood.
That's not as bad as 'Don't worry, it's not my blood' in terms of reassurances that end up being frightening, but it's up there.

I, for one, am going to assume Hugo has a better grasp of the situation than us, and is more than capable deciding whether or not a doctor is actually necessary.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

If they're coming down from his nose that's not terribly worrysome. They're likely just little dried spots along his throat from dripping through the back of his nose. Like how a runny nose will sometimes come out of your throat too if it's really bad.

It's when you're coughing out non dried and highly bright blood is a concern, since then it's coming from your lungs.

Severe nosebleed->drained a bunch of blood into my stomach->comes back up the next day as gooey chunks

I've rid myself of all of it now, and had enough to eat and drink to replace what was lost. No worries.

There's no sense in being disgusted with common everyday bodily functions. I mean, honestly taking a shit is way more gross than that.
