Rice in pie is terrible. I've tried it, and...no.

Rice with roast chicken, or a rich stew of any kind, though, is good in my opinion. It's also super easy to prepare if not quite as nice as pasta or potato.

Rice is so nasty I don't even consider it to be food.
Have you ever had good rice though? Rice done wrong is disgusting, yeah, but rice done right...

I've had Mexican rice dishes prepared by actual Mexicans, Thai rice made by Thais, and Chinese rice prepared by actual Chinese. It was all horrible.

Rice done wrong is pretty much the general state of being of rices in Western countries. :U

Not to mention, Western food do NOT go well with rice imo. I can't understand people who eat rice with pies or whatever.

What are you considering as Western here? Rice is pretty standard for Mediterranean cooking or south american or Creole/Cajon food etc.etc. It goes with a lot of things. I agree that pies are weird though.

If it tastes bad and has high fat content, it's western. :P

But seriously though the food here in New Zealand is so fatty. It's probably why I'm so fat.

Spent the night drinking with a couple of friends. Haven't really drank that much but I hadn't been drinking for a while now, especially not whiskey so it kinda hit hard. But beyond the somewhat troubled stomach the bigger problem is that I didn't really get any sleep and I can't fall asleep now either so this is going to be one long and painful day.

I just hope I don't give in to any bad ideas as my willpower gets weaker and weaker towards the end of the day.

Western usually means "places colonised by England", and England loves its fatty fried foods. We learn from our parents.

Well, you certainly don't look fat from what I've seen in the photo thread, but I might just be biased. You also might be lying to us and posting pictures of someone who isn't you, and secretly gorging on fush 'n' chups.

Yeah rice doesnt go with everything, but it goes with a lot of stuff.
For the stuff rice doesn't go with, pasta exists :P

Also IDK, I always eat the Uncle Ben's brown rice, idk what its called in English exactly. It tastes pretty good.

If it's not fried, preferably in lard, it's not worth eating.

Is that recipe possible without eggs?

Assuming the egg is a binder, you would get crumblier waffles, but I'm pretty sure you could do it. You could also replace the egg with banana, avocado or peanut butter probably.

I actually lied a little.

My mom makes the most delicious tomato soup with mashed potatoes, and it's so good.

But besides that, mashed potatoes are shit.
