Apparently, spilling a cup of boiling water on your hand is somewhat painful. If you're going to drop something near a fresh cup of tea, folks, don't flail wildly in an attempt to catch it. You might cause more trouble than it's worth! And probably not catch the damn key, anyway.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I have done too much work. This current exam is going to stretch me. It's tomorrow. I don't think I can do it. I haven't had enough time. I feel tired and despondent with no work ethic.

...have you been attending classes and keeping up with schoolwork and homework and shit? It's not like the only things you know for the exam is what you can cram before the test, right?

It's one of the last exams. I haven't been in class for it in over a month.

I generally don't study and pass my exams anyway. Not to say you shouldn't study.

Hey, I thought that about yesterday's exam and then it was super easy. You'll probably be fine.

Think I pissed off one of the only real friends I have in the entire world, and they're finally done with my bullshit. I need them a whole hell of a lot more than they've ever needed me, emotionally speaking, and I kinda snapped at them, and they haven't replied to me since.

For the past week, I've gotten nothing on my cell phone but spam, confirmation emails, and people calling for other people because my phone has unlimited minutes. Why do I even have the damn thing?

Seems that every morning for the past several weeks or so has been a black pit of shit. It takes me over an hour in most cases to just force myself out of bed so that  I can stop the stream of negative thoughts. It usually lightens up around noon or so, but that's half the day gone to just feeling shitty while having terrible thoughts about random things.

I'm trying to fight it but I have no idea how really, as soon as I avert the negative train of thought it's back within minutes because I don't have much positive stuff to focus on :/

I go back to work next week. I need the money, and I like my co-workers, but that doesn't mean I'm looking forward to going back to work.

Urrrgh, I feel as though I hate everyone I know.
Sadly I'm not sure that's all that far from the truth. :-\

I caught a cold. I have two final tests next week. Hopefully, it'll go away by Friday; if it doesn't, I'm in trouble.
