But you aren't deluding yourself that you can ever help. Do not give way to those thoughts which bring you down--or you'll believe them if they're repeated enough.
The same can be said if you append 'I'm failure' to everything you do, when you perceive even a sliiight bit of 'D:' there. Best thing to do, is to note what you think makes you a 'failure', check what is done, then move on--not letting that label stick on ya.
You are not deluding yourself that you can -ever- help. Even a kind word, alone, like a Sorry or an 'I'm here for ya. Sorry if my words dont convey it right or stuff, but I care' makes a ton of a difference.

It's because some piece of me has lost an ability to cope with, among other things, the sheer number of suicides among children in this suffering generation. I'll get my math PhD while running side projects, and then I'm going to full-time it.

So many give up at the feet of mountains, not knowing even what lies beyond.  The hell may be real, but the mountain is still climbable, and other extreme options are more viable than the final, most extreme one.

DISCLAIMER: I'm really stressed out right now, been having a bad day, and I'm just in general not in a good mood at the moment, above and beyond my usual moodiness covered in a thin veneer of being upbeat. A lot of this will be exaggerated, ranty, and in general shouldn't be taken as a legitimate complaint, but rather me trying to vent.

I'm not even sure where to begin...I suppose first off is I'm sick and fucking tired of being in the closet. At my old school, me being bi wasn't a big issue. I got a few bible thumpers calling me a fag, but most people were fine with it. But where I live now, it's a federal fucking issue. I've had to keep it a complete secret from *everybody*, on pain of potential death. The people here are incredibly homophobic, to where the following comes up in polite conversation:

Classmate: "Man, they should just round up all the faggots and shoot 'em."

Not kidding. And it isn't like this was just one super-right-wing asshole; it's rare I go a day without overhearing something along those lines. And even with that particular aspect kept under wraps, the people here are just flat out assholes. Not to mention incredibly racist and misogynistic. And it isn't limited to the students; while they're more discreet about it, a lot of the teachers have said some rather questionable things.

Back to the homophobia thing, what really pisses me off faaar more than it probably should is that my dad (Who doesn't actually live with me, granted) thinks that it isn't a big deal. Nothing I can say convinces him that denying a major aspect of your self isn't at least a slight emotional impact.

Outside of the people of the school, the courses are terrible...The most complex CS class I could get put in (And that they offer in the entire fucking school; this isn't a case of me missing prerequisite credits) has us doing fucking basic Microsoft Excel functions. This was a class filled mainly with seniors and juniors...Nobody besides me (A freshman, at that) found it to be anything besides unbelievably difficult. This clearly insurmountable obstacle of "Select the relevant boxes and click a few things" is what caused me to leave that class, after it proved to take countless lectures, several tutorials, and weeks of work to figure out how to use the add function.

It isn't a case of them having just a shitty CS curriculum either; the core classes suffer just as badly. Or at least math. I'm in pre-AP geometry. This is a class composed of ~30% juniors and a handful of seniors. HARDLY ANY OF THEM UNDERSTAND FUCKING ALGEBRA. A lot of things in this rant are exaggerations because I'm kinda pissed at the moment have and been having a bad day, but that bit's pretty much the truth. I'd say at least half of them can't simplify basic equations. And yet I get shit about being dumb because they studied trigonometric functions a few weeks before my old class did, and had to get a bit of help with it.


Fuck this place. Fuck it again and again until it begs for mercy and then keep at it.

Oh well. Back to pretending to be happy and unaffected by the move, at least for the sake of easing my mom's attempt at quitting smoking.
