Gatorade is like crystal meth in a bottle. I drink about 30 oz a day and I've started growing shotguns out of my abs.
Wow. What happens when the hallucinations fade?
I TOLD YOU ABOUT THE STAIRS, BRO. I TOLD YOU.

I don't see how it could be placebo, seeing as I discovered this out of the blue.
It could be that the headache went away on its own and you thought it was the Spritesicle, and from then on it was the placebo effect or magical thinking.

The thing is though, is that it still works consistantly, even after my acknowlegement that it could very well be placebo. It's strange, to say the least. I need to find a way to test this...

Placebos don't need you to know they are not placebos to work.

Yeah. Even if you know it's a placebo, it could still work. The only reliable way is a large study, with some real Sprite, some Sprite with half the ingredients removed, etc.

Getting subjects for this would be hard, seeing as they would need to have headaches for it to be properly tested. Testing Joshua's claim that it cures stomach flu would be much more simple, though.

If it involves hammertime, I don't think we'll be seeing many test subjects.

I am kind of sad right now because I've apparently become incredibly insecure about actually posting instead of just lurking, which kind of undermines actually having an account instead of lurking anonymously. It's at its worst here, since I'm still incredibly unfamiliar with much of this forum despite lurking some in the past, but it's present elsewhere as well.

And now I feel like I'm interrupting a conversation, which just makes it worse.

Don't worry about it.
You can't really interrupt these guys.
They'll just keep talking around you as though you hadn't.

It's not interrupting, they can continue their discussion of the healing properties of Sprite uninterrupted.

Yeah, what ein said.

Yes, I'm perfectly aware of that. I'm also perfectly aware of several reasons I feel so insecure, and also why these reasons are wrong and bad and I should feel perfectly comfortable interacting with people since I'm (probably) not so completely incompetent that I can get an entire forum after my head just because of a passing remark.

But I still feel incredibly insecure about it anyway. It makes me sad. And annoyed. And I'd come up with some horrible abomination of a neologism to capture both emotions with one word but a good one doesn't come to mind.

And now people post when I'm typing a post and then I have more to reply to and then I kind of feel like I should rewrite the entire thing so it flows better and it doesn't look like I had to tack on acknowledgments of those posts that came while I was typing because not acknowledging them would be rude but then more people would post and then I'd have to do it again and then it doesn't end and I never actually post.

Which makes it worse. It's really, really annoying.
