Things that made me sad: a documentary on Los Alamos. Jeez, those physicists realizing the weight of what they'd done, especially after the justifications they used for most of the project (Hitler was going to build the bomb, had to get there first) fell apart.

Someone would have done it eventually.

Yeah, once the idea was brought up, it was inevitable, but whoever did it would probably have felt the same afterwards. The idea of what they'd brought into the world really messed them up, and it's simply sad to watch.

Please, man. People are defined by much more than what's in their pants.
Have this gotten to the OOCQ yet? I'm doing it.

One of my cousins is probably addicted to meth. It's not looking good.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Depressed. Mood is shit. It's been going to shit the last couple days. Tried talking to therapists. Still depressed. Tried meds. Still depressed. Don't know what to do anymore.

I'm so tired of all this.

How long've you been on meds? They usually take a couple of agonizing weeks to actually help.

EDIT: More important, I hope the depression passes. That shit sucks :(

Sphess... Umm. Hmm. Did you try my suggestions last time? Because that's really all the advice I can think of. Depression is pretty difficult to figure out. Try doctors instead of therapists, maybe? You said you'd already tried meds. How about a nutritionist? If your body is lacking in some kind of ingredient, it can worsen depression. Do you have anybody who is there with you in person to help you?

I concur. Also, maybe it's time to try different meds? Depression meds aren't really "one-size-fits all". Just keep trying and keep talking to anyone who is trying to help you. That's all I've got.
