All of my favorite things to do tend to take at least a couple of hours, so I often end up in this weird fugue state before bed where I really want to go do something but all of the things I want to do would take way too long to finish before I need to go to sleep. :-\

It would be brutally difficult and probably won't work. In other words, it's absolutely dwarven!

Same situation, different handling.
Personally I'm underemployed and only watch a few hours a week, and/but* the upshot of this is that most days I can just stay up if I want too (provided I'm not up doing anything that'll bother my parents, as I can't afford my own apartment)

Well, you don't have to clean up, feed and water cars like you do horses. Melbourne used to have that problem and it was quite a problem from what I remember reading.

Sydney still has some cops on horses, you"ll sometimes see them round Hyde Park where in a car you just crawl along because of traffic. They do in fact crap everywhere.

Sure, Melbourne still has a few horses that pull carriages along the main street from Flinders St Station up to Melbourne Central and down to around the art gallery. I think it's only about two teams of two horses but they may have more for rotation.

I know that some major cities in California still have cops on horses. Mostly for parades and festivals, though.

(horses don't seem to have a "mildly concerned" setting; they go straight from "everything's cool" to "we're all gonna die!")

All for reasons I still don't quite understand. I swear it has something to do with their senses not being up to par.

Dammit. Why must I feel guilty for everything?
There's a notion in Psychology (of which I forgot the term and unsure if the right term is 'notion') which notes that guilt, though before young adulthood, may partly be based on what you are told to be guilty for (even if its not your fault and such, though applicably present when the possibility of it being your fault exists). Its not a bad thing though!

I am bad with words at the moment though.

Sad: I wish I could get my terms right. :-\ The usual 'I know this thing!' {but the wording escapes me} occurs at times when its most needed. <_<

Then perhaps its related to the fact that horses have an underdeveloped corpus callosum (the organ that allows the two hemispheres of the brain to communicate with each other and share information).

Huh. I didn't know that. That would explain why you need to train them to do the same task twice from either side, I guess.

Also, tiruin, sure I guess, but animal psychology isn't my major so wikipedia is about as good a source as anything I could give you. Anecdotal evidence and whatnot...

Sads for today; mom caught my cold, now she's miserable. Sinus infection still kicking my ass. Antibiotics giving me the runs because I forgot to inhale a yogurt cup last night
