Yeah, I explained it to him and he advised me to not come in.

Yeah, I explained it to him and he advised me to not come in.
Probably don't need to feel guilty then.

Aaaaand now I just cleared it with my boss to call in for today. First time I've called in sick in a long, long time. Can't stop running to the bathroom, not to mention the vomiting episode I had last night, and that's not going to work during the single coverage (working alone!) that I would be facing today, even though that would be a short period of time. A couple hours, at most.

Bluh, I feel so guilty calling in.
Did you explain to the boss your vomiting and regular running to the bathroom? I think that would justify you not being able to handle the single coverage. Would probably be bad for public image to have the lone game shop employee puking all over his customers during his shift, at least.

Not to mention: if other people catch it, productivity goes down

(Did I mention I was barred from public work for the last two weeks because of a lingering cough which I couldn't shake out and got me wheezing persistently? I stayed in an office doing other work instead)

I'm encouraged to stay home when sick. It is purely for practical reasons: no one wants a wheezing, vomiting, dizzy, drowsy person driving a big rig.

I wish I had time off school.

But, I also know I'd miss it if I were not to go at all.

'Tis a love hate relationship.

Two of my best friends just broke up, messily.

we'll probably never be able to hang out with them in the same group again.

chalk up 3 pairs of friends who will never hang out with each other, pretty much ruining any hope we had of getting the old gang from high school back together.

fuck.

Dating a girl or guy that you're good friends with is like having an old sweater. It's comfortable, you take it everywhere you go, and you miss it when you don't have it.

But who in their right mind fucks their sweater

Also, in a completely unrelated note, but one sparked by your avatar, we're doing Marxs' theories on religion in R.E.

It echoes yours somewhat....

I wouldn't say that's 100% true. It depends on the breakup more than anything, since people aren't sweaters and have feelings and stuff.

And stealing from Cracked videos is fucking low (unless it's After Hours because that is some cash shit).

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.
