The only thing I can suggest about that is to go for a day without sleep, then go to bed about 10 hours before you want to wake.

Sadly, that dident really work for me last time, since I slept for closer to 14 hours...

Yeah, didn't work for me either when I tried it yesterday, I got maybe 1 hour of sleep. Even better, fell asleep on the sofa right away when I got home today and just woke up now, no idea if I can get any sleep tonight before I need to get to work at little over 6 hours from now...
This week is going to be so much fun.

Then you get cities like Paris where you should basically just kill yourself already.

You won’t have to think anymore: it’ll be just like having fun!

I don't think there's really any way to change your body's sleeping pattern apart from setting a strict schedule for yourself and sticking to it for a while, continuing to lie in bed for the set time, sleep or no sleep.
Once your body clock is beaten into submission you start feeling so much better than usual.

I have sleep-sads myself this morning: had to get up rather early but of course I couldn't get to sleep. Ended up only sleeping for a couple of hours before my alarm. :-/

nothing is more reassuring regarding the state of humanity than hearing "hamas hamas jude auf gas" coming from the back of the train
And those guys don't even speak proper German? Goddammit, if you're gonna be an antisemite you can at least get your pronunciation right!

Seriously though, where was that? (And who was that? Ethnicity-wise, I mean.)

slavs man, it's always the slavs (and the danes sometimes, goddamnit denmark)

i'd dare say poles but then i cannot tell my slavs apart

I function just fine on 4 hours of sleep.
Which is my sad now, because I just realised I never get more than 4 hours of sleep.
Haven't for the past 2 years at minimum.
Why brain :(

Of course you can function on barely any sleep once you're used to it, but that doesn't mean you aren't tired.
I used to have terrible sleep habits for years and never really felt bad; I got so used to running on that much sleep that I never felt tired.
It was only when I moved to a place where the people I cohabitated with kept normal hours- and I simply adopted their schedule- that I realised how much better I felt with a decent amount of sleep, and that previously I had always been tired and just not been aware of it.

...Damn, it would really be nice to fix my sleep patterns again. :(

I've heard thirdhand[<-So take this with a grain of salt.] from someone on Bay12 that starving yourself for ~24 hours also resets your sleep schedule, if that helps at all[Yeah, it probably doesn't help.].

My phase of no appetite coincided with my sleep schedule degrading even further, so...

Correlation and causation, and all that, but I don't think it exactly helped.

Just have a baby! You won't sleep for four months straight! It's WONDERFUL!

This isn't a big sad, and I suppose that's sad in itself.

This morning I got up early to travel some distance for a Great Uncle's funeral. A great uncle not related by blood, and who I had never met.

But still, the family was obviously devastated, and I'd only ever heard good things about the man. I can't help but feeling sad not only that he died, but that I never met him. My mother in particular was full of ringing endorsements.

Define "terrible side effects".

I can confirm that one meal a day is not a fun way to live. Damn, I need to remember to cook...
