Just broke up with my girlfriend after a fight about buying textbooks that escalated  :-\

I honestly dunno what to say here, now haha. I mean, after it was decided, we talked each other down. We're still friends/on good terms but the relationship as it stands just isn't appearing to be working out for the long run. I want to go to sleep but I don't feel like I can.

I'm probably going to have to withdraw from Geology. We're only three days in and it's already so insanely far above my head that I'm in full panic mode. Unlike any sane class where you review one topic before moving on to the next, there's like fifteen subjects in a single lecture with this class. "Okay kids, we're going to learn about anticlines and synclines. Nope now we're talking about earthquakes. Nope thermodynamics. Just kidding, we were really talking about continental drift this whole time. You still remember anticlines right? Good, because now we're talking about earthquakes again."

Total War. Their expansions are just crappy DLC now, and Attila coming out soon is basically just an expansion of Rome, offered at full price.
Are they that broke?

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

Seeing as CA is probably the only good/profitable developer for Sega? Ya, probably.

I'm right back where I started.
Well, technically not quite where I started, I suppose- but back where I was when I decided to move cities and get myself out of the rut I was in and improve my life.
*sigh*

I saw a guy flirting with a girl I had my eyes on since September and have been talking to her since. After winter hoildays, she doesn't talk to me quite as much. The guy is quite nice, good talker and actor.
I felt like absolute shit for 30 minutes after spotting that and I still feel sad at this moment.

edit for the best fucking typo ever

A girl. I don't feel as sad anymore, that typo was ridiculous.

I should be revising right now, but instead I'm here.

Erhhhh, fine I'll start now. I think.

Same here, except I just finished a bout of revising.

Also, re: cat & cancer, if a bit late, that was vet's appraisal, but it's not confirmed yet.

I haven't done physics in 5 years or so, and when I did it was the algebra-based E&M class. I never got around to multivariable calculus, although I have been working toward it lately by sheer coincidence. I'm going to have to accelerate my pace, though, because this wireless security course is expecting me to do some multivariable integration for antenna physics and we're all pretty much expected to know how to do these things. My physics grad student buddy assures me that this is stuff she and her peers find difficult, so I'm sure I'll be begging for death by the end.

At least learning the math will be fun, I just don't know where I'll find the time.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I give passwords as soon as asked and pray my mom doesn't find anything. My mom gets really angry abiut that.

For example, that tike she wanted my sister's iPad password.
My sister told her the password happily, and she tried to type it but failed. My sister said, "Here, let me do it for you." She took the iPad and started writing. At this my mom raised her voice and told my sister to give her the iPad password. My sister started handing it back, and said, "Ok, I will, just calm down."
"CALM DOWN, YOU CALM DOWN! I HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT YOUR PASSWORDS ARE! I HAVE TO EDUCATE YOU, PROTECT YOU!" After that, I think my mom ranted for a while and my sis was punished.

Not like I have anything to hide in my facebook. It is purposefully left blank so that she can't find anything against me. I'm really scared of the day she decides to search my computer and iPad, though...

You need to start saving things on easily hideable USB drives and/or SD cards
