Remind yourself that they're an ex for a reason. Things didn't work out, no matter the cause. It happens. It doesn't always feel nice to lose someone that you're close to, but sometimes it's necessary.

I know it doesn't help to say, but don't listen to them. It's bad when family refuses to acknowledge your emotional distress, my parents did that for a very long time. They sent me to shrinks and then just utterly ignored and crapped all over me for my problems.

It has a long term detrimental effect. Just remember that what you are feeling it real and legitimate, and it matters.

When you have to do something, but can't do it without the help of other people (who are unresponsive/busy), so you sit around doing nothing because you'd feel guilty if you did anything leisurely
