I found Cave Story to be mundane and some what over rated, just some other platformer or whatever. I didnt like it at all, I was expecting an awesome game and I got this. Feels bad man.

When I first reached the village full of retarded bunny things (I dont even remember what they where) and I was saddened that I couldnt shoot them with my revolver.

So... you played for 5 seconds, got a pathetic gun, played 5 more seconds and go annoyed that it wasn't GTA? It's a platformer, not a sandbox game.

 It was made by a Japanese developer, not an American one. Where in our games you make progress by killing everything that moves the Japanese games are more akin to helping everything that speaks and killing everything else that moves.

 Also, you played about five screens of the game. Finish the damn thing before giving an opinion unless the game is broken.

I almost destroyed (literally, in the physical sense) my computer by trying a singularily bad idea I had (of the sort that's so bad that it's better not to n mention it).

On the bright side, once I fixed that it seems the idea worked partially

Played more of it, still dont like it. Platformers where really never my thing, im probably dissapointed because I thought this thing would get me into the genre. The 2 boss fights I played where extremly easy, second one I didnt even take damage. Dont get mad dude, its just my opinion.

Yeah, if you don't like platformers you probably won't like Cave Story.(though the bosses will NOT stay that easy...) It is one of the best ones though.

 Congrats the first two boss fights of a game. They will be easy. They are the first two. It's called a difficulty curve.

 And yeah, you might do better with some 3D platformers like the better Prince of Persia games.
