I just want to be clear - I am actually game to drop $5,000 on this if it happens within the next year. I've realized that deadlines have passed on obligations that will consume half my savings, hence the decrease. Most of Antarctica is unclaimed, and IIRC there's a bit of land in the Middle East that is unowned by any country for some reason.
I'm not sure if we want to go the Syrupleaf route and settle in Antarctica, though.
