Aren't anti-depressants a regiment? As in, you feel the effects over time as they work? Don't feel so bad they don't hit you immediately, you've done yourself a favor many people in that position won't take the step towards. Enjoy your beer, damnit.

Sympathy, Puzzlemaker. :(

Personal sad:

So, about a week ago, my dad asked me if I had saved anything on my new computer, because we were going to copy my configuration settings from the old one, which would overwrite anything of the same name from the old machine. I didn't at the moment; I didn't have anything to open Cataclysm and hadn't changed anything and I had renamed my DF folder since then.

He did it today. AN ENTIRE EFFING WEEK AFTER HE ASKED. I had started a new file on a Final Fantasy ROM since then. I booted it up today, and the first thing crossing my mind--
"Where's my ship?"

Now I gotta start ALL OVER. I spent DAYS grinding for Fir2. :(

I got called in for the second time in a few days and again couldn't come in for a legitimate reason (first time I didn't have a ride, today I had a doctors appointment). I feel bad for not coming in and I also really would like to not get a reputation at work for not coming in. I've always been there when scheduled and came when called in in the past, but I'm still a worried. Do people get fired for chronically not-coming-in-when-called-on-an-off-day?

Despite the fact that I enjoy work and seem to do good at it, it's looking like I'm gonna need to switch already because things are just getting too fucked up.

No. You had legit reasons and weren't scheduled. You're fine.

Alright. It's my first job so I tend to worry overmuch about things I'm not sure of.

I think if I did he'd be confused about the occasional 6'1" tall almost zombie looking girl he works with on top of the other complaints.

There aren't any giants where I work, so I don't think so.

Anyways, I've noticed that the whole time I'm not spending my time on the forums, or computer, or something else, my mood seems to do nothing but switch from angry to sad, with rare instances of feeling happy.
Then when I get on here, I just sort of forget it all, and I'm happy, I never realized the extent of this... Disconnect with reality until now.

Also, every time I play a video game, I think of how I could turn it into a forum game.
I think I need real life friends.

Noooo Mastah,

Real life friends are for losers.

One of us, one of us, one of us, one of us.

I have to agree with Joshua on the booze thing, I really fail to see how that would help at all. Even if it did happen to numb the pain (and not cause potential violence as a side effect) then it still wouldn't actually be helping to fix anything.

Just finding ways to numb yourself doesn't help.
I'd like to point out that sometimes, numbing out the pain is the only way to keep going. I speak from experience.
*sage nod*

Obviously, everyone, YMMV on any and all advice given herein.  A good numbing works for some of us.  It may not for others.

Emotional breakdowns suck.
We seem to be on a similar wavelength today  >_>
