It might have been, but it's also true.
Sadly seconded.

Huh.

I had that yesterday, too, I just didn't feel like mentioning it.

The best cure for suicidal impulses is, apparently, homicidal impulses.

Literally what my therapist had to spend months teaching me. Seriously, it doesn't make you immoral unless you go and act on it.

Kinda surprised to hear this endorsed professionally, but I'm not too surprised to hear that it works for some people.  I was severely depressed when I was working at Fedex, and I used anger to carry me through the day quite frequently.  If I didn't find some way to keep myself distracted, I would fade out into what I called an Existential Coma.  I wouldn't have the motivation to do anything but fall asleep at my desk, and couldn't focus no matter how hard I tried.  So I'd hang out here or find something interesting to read online.  And when I was being monitored too heavily to pull that off, the only thing I could do was blast my ears with angry music and fill myself up with hatred, which I'd then direct into focus on my work.  I spent a lot of time angry, but it was the only alternative I could find to just giving up.

In this case it was that my depression was anger turned inwardly, rather than outwardly. I was super fucking angry and pointed it at myself because I knew I could hurt myself and had absorbed the message that I deserved it.
^This. I remember thinking that a lot back when I was a kid.

Tried, and failed, to fix my rear brakes. Apparently, I need to buy a special tool that isn't made anymore.

Sadly, it looks like I must accept some loans. Because the world is silly, this is to ensure that I can continue to pay down the PLUS loans that are in my mother's name (because this country's financial aid system is inane), and which can therefore not actually be deferred if I'm in school or anything like that. So this accomplishes nothing but to transfer the debt into my name (effectively capitalizing it as well), with a shittier interest rate. Oh well.

“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Then you pass it onto your children, then they pass it onto their children and so it continues until the end of time. Or until some good soul eradicates said bank and all its records from the face of the Earth.

Anyways, minor sad/rage of the day.

So there's this new show they're announcing on Fox, Salem. Now I usually don't mind alternate history shows THAT much ( I will still grumble at the stupid shit they do but if the show itself is good enough I'm willing to atleast try and enjoy the ride). Except this one is doing the worst possible kind of alternate history.

Everything is the same, except the horrible horrible people who did horrible horrible things to innocent people are now being justified because apparently the innocent people actually are witches and therefore it's totally fine to burn and torture them.

Atleast this is what the trailers have told me so far. Seriously, how fucked up do you have to be to suggest this thing? Unless there's a big twist where they're not actually really witches or something else that makes the bad people bad again, but why do that at all? We already know they're bad, playing with that to no apparent end is kinda stupid and pointless imho.

Wait. That wasn't one of Descan's jokes? O_o
I'm never joking, I just say the things I'm serious about jokingly.

It's when I'm being serious that you should take what I say as joking. Dead-pan, you know.

Well it is sound advice, if you ask me.
Too bad you can go from one to another and then back to the original pretty freely.
