This sort of thing happens to me a lot, i try to make someone happier, say the exact wrong thing, and then they hate me.

 My father is in one of his downswings again. The sad thing is that he has been working every day for 12 hours for two years now. It is understandable as to why he would be unstable like this, but what can I do? Even my best attempts at comforting him after such days only drives him into a deeper state of melancholy.

 The real kicker is that for some strange reason, I can feel that but most others can't. When he's fuming they continue on with things they know he doesn't like when in a foul mood, as if they want to drive him into a sense of rage. I know it is unintentional, but why do they cause him such pain? Why do they not see it?

Also yeah I got pretty mad reading all of the sexist comments in the thread too. I expect more from the people here.

The discussion just inadvertantly led to some touchy feelings, which were accidentally fed with attention, and then the maelstrom of negativity just spiraled out of control, which is an easy thing to do and is not the fault of any real malicious forethought. Things just got out of hand, and I don't think any less of those involved. It could've happened to anyone, and I'm just glad that I locked it before anyone got hurt.
