Stuff altering your mind is pretty fun though
And ultimately unsustainable, damaging, and uneconomical. I prefer to think of the future, as well as the present. Saying things like "It's fun!" could lead many young people to participate-as the young tend to be more susceptible. This will effect them adversely. They will not look for healthy pursuits, but look instead to weed. They will spend their money on it, waste their study time on it and lose a future. Simply better to not risk it.
In my view, anything that intoxicates the mind and leads to reduced cognitive skills is bad.
Have you heard about this thing where every human on earth becomes paralysed and vividly hallucinates for around 6-8 hours a day every day?
That's hardly a rational argument. Unlike drugs, sleep is necessary for survival.
You said 'anything'. Come on, that one was far too easy.
But fine, what about the bit where doing things that helps you survive but also sometimes things that don't causes people to experience a rush of various drugs produced in the brain that can well cause a lack of cognitive skills?
If they're caused in the brain, they're deemed by natural selection to be necessary for survival. Anger is drug related. It also causes problems, and shortens life. And I admit, there was perhaps a slight mis-wording in my first sentence, quickly rectified in later lines, however.
