Well, there's been a wave of people who's been gone a long time returning lately. You're part of it now. It's just a bit strange that so many gets the idea to check back up on ye olde bay12 at roughly the same time.

It's probably an implanted suggestion. Sleeper agent sort of thing.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

My guess is that bay12 played a bigger role in a lot of peoples lives.
Wouldn't mind running into some more familiar faces around here.

It might have to do with the semester being about to start, seeing as we're heavy in the college male demographic.

My semester is about to end in a few weeks.

Which means I'll have to go find a job.

So my dad has terrible teeth, like, in my 21 years of life I can't remember doing anything to clean them but toothpicks, bad problems. And my mom is rather fed up with it as you might imagine, and has gone on a more focused campain to get him to go to the dentist and fix that shit up. He's resisting in a rather passive, just let it pass kind of way. But she's getting bitchier and bitchier about the whole thing and it has gotten rather sad to watch it all happen honestly. Both him resisting it and her being so damn asshole about it.

So I think it's one of the first times I've actually wanted to get the fuck out of here and back to uni as fast as possible.

Also unrelated sad, the three days that I'm home the desktop seemingly dies (I suspect the PSU finally gave in) and my laptop is left for the public use while it falls to me to get the damn desktop fixed and running before I go :I

I've hit the truant event horizon.
I'm so mortified by the idea of turning up to a prac I haven't attended since the uni semester started that I simply can't make myself go.

Oh, and the Tertiary Transport Concession Card I ordered in February just arrived.
Way to fucking go, Ausgov.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

@Tack: I've seen a ton worse on people doing such exams (unless prac =/= practical exams?) and heard a lot worse. Not going DOES NOT FIX ANYTHING but help your fear.
I mean, seriously, psychological stuff gets real strong when those things happen (ie sudden...'accidents' involving the GIT due to 'stress' xD). DO NOT GIVE IN.
