It's best to resolve problems rather than bottle up emotion regarding them OR try to release them with catharsis.

They must think injustice absurd; above all, they must think it startling. They must retain the violence of a virgin astonishment. When the pessimist looks at any infamy, it is to him, after all, only a repetition of the infamy of existence. But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

So, I have four tests that week, two of which tomorrow. And I just got a depressive mood swing out of the blue, I could literally tell you with reasonable accuracy when it started. Aaand I got trapped in a feedback loop where I'm digging myself deeper emotionally, am introspective enough to realize that, which makes me angry, which makes me more depressed, repeat.

Seriously, neurotransmitters, fuck you.

Shout! Shout! Let it all out. Those are some things you could do without. Come on.

Sorry to hear that bro. I hope sharing it has improved the situation somewhat.
Pretty sure that's not a good think to do. By releasing emotional pressure like that, you set up a positive feedback loop, which reinforces the original problem.

Or maybe that was with aggression, I don't know.

Oddly enough BBC news does tell me that people who bottle stuff up are better off than people who release it.
I'd think those who are better off bottle up instead of releasing...

Definitely. Some things are out of your hands, though... :(

* Iceblaster sighs

One of my birds died today.

It's inevitable, yes, however it's still a punch to the gut whenever something you love dies in the night. Just... Gah. I can't really make good words for this situation. Add that on to possible but unproven but also possible teenage hormonal bullshit depression and I'm feeling so fucking peachy today.

* Iceblaster sighs once more

Depends on the method of release, but that's generally incorrect.
Surpression of emotions sucks for mental health.

That form of cutting is a particular type of catharsis, and obviously not a healthy one :P

This is true. It might be more in your control than you might realize, depending on the situation though.

I honestly believe a lot of people's lives could be a lot better if they could change their environment and who they're surrounded by. If the problem is caused by other people, you can get away from said people. But as you said, this is out of some people's hands, like people too young to move away from their family, or other obligations taking precedence over their own mental health.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Had this last spring. Sold it for ~1.2 cents/share [.012] and took a tidy profit. Unfortunately I did not reload after the dump phase, and in the last month it got re-pumped to way past the previous pump level. Goddamnit. I could've made 20 times my money if I had.

Why, oh why, did I not pick up those shares at .001 :'( The 'pot' stocks always do this this time of year too, stupid me.

Yesterday while I was driving my car the rear left wheel fell off. It was kinda hairy, but the real reason it makes me sad is because I invest over half of my income in maintaining this damn car and it's still not enough. It really makes my job look shitty, and everywhere I look most people have shittier jobs.
