Most people aren't adorable vikings.
We can be fuzzy, adorable vikings together.

Wanna go raid England~? All aspects of my ancestry cry out for Anglo blood.
So wait, are you doing this on straight-up geographical location, or on ethnicity?

Culture, and semi-geographical location.

If you feel English or are in a place with England in the name (I'm looking at you, New England), then you're fair game.

Oh. So if I've ever felt a spontaneous urge to stick a flag on a place and own it I'm doomed to death by anime (magical-girl?) vikings?

Or indeed on "nationality", the third definition people tend to forget. But yes those amassing for the harrying of Greater Anglia could probably gather to very, very large numbers if we consider all the people whose ancestors have been enemies of England at some point.

There is also the small matter of the nation of angry, disenfranchised hairy people whose industries have been destroyed, resources stolen and public services privatised.

Well considering my ancestry is mostly "Scottish and Irish, a bit of American-melting-pot, and probably a bit of Viking", heh.

Though whenever people say "small matter" they implicitly mean it is a big matter. I have never heard anyone call a small matter a small matter, it's always stuff like "all is well in the town sir, but there is the small matter of the oncoming Mongol Hordes". Many of us were Vikings (within Scotland there's at least 3-4 Viking/Norse Kingdoms) and indeed I'm sure Descan's ancestors were Scots-Vikings too in some way, or at least heavily influenced by them given that the Islands they lived on were once under Viking control as part of a Norse Kingdom (as far as I know). The Welsh though are most emphatically not Vikings. I think those Viking types got their fill of Welsh-Harrying after they finished completely eradicating the Men of the Old North.

As a small point there, considering those Men were my ancestors I'm afraid I'd have to turn on you Descan after we're done with the Sassenachs. I'm sorry.

Actually, the Vikings had many dealings with South Wales in the early middle ages, and even founded Swansea as a massive trading post some time around 950 to 1015 ish. My family on my Fathers side are descended from settlers who integrated with us Welsh in the post-Norman conquest period.

Sure, lets go get those bastards that shot down my grandpa (it's ok, he lived)
Is that like a "My grandpa died in a concentration camp. He fell out of a guard tower" style joke or...?

He was an airplane mechanic for the Luftwaffe, near the end of the war (Battle of the Bulge) they wanted everyone to fight so they put him in a plane, but they ran out of parachutes for Paratrooping, so he was the only member of his squad to survive... the plane ended up crashing out of the immediate battle zone, but he was captured and sent to England as a POW.

Know what's the worst part of having a stepdad say to you for years on end that you're a failure, a worthless bitch, when you get into the 'real world' you're gonna die/end up living on a street corner, you suck, fuck you for [insert 'forgetting to do random menial task ie dishes, garbage' or 'lost a spoon' or some other bullshit]?

Going and proving him right.
Of course my situation isn't as bad as I'm making it out to be, I'm just likely to fail high school at this rate and I can't force myself to do any schoolwork at all and have terrible sleep habits and emotional backlash from repressing hurt for several years but still
