On Wednesday, my dad came over to visit before he leaves for Dubai. He brought his new gaming laptop. The screen is massive (so massive, in fact, that no resolution supported by anything we installed on it would reach the sides, so there were always black edges on the side). It's exponentially more powerful than my desktop PC. I can count Sam Fisher's stubble.
So we installed some stuff that I had. At the time, he only had Puzzle Bobble and WoW (he's a big WoW player, and has 5 or 6 guys above level 70, 4 of which are 80). I installed Rome: Total War, Splinter Cell: Conviction, and Dragon Age: Origins. We even played some Splinter Cell on the LAN, and got part way through the Russian Embassy level before calling it a night.
On Saturday evening, I come home, and he's on the couch playing puzzle bobble.
He claims the gaming laptop was worth it, because the guys in Dubai will probably do LAN parties and whatnot (apparently they have lots of techies), but his Splinter Cell skills aren't proficient enough for anybody to want to play with him.
I should have put Modern Warfare 2 on there, as well. Ironically, I couldn't even give him everything because I don't have room on my computer to store it all in the first place, and lots of it is DirectDrive'd/Steam'd/pirated, and it ends up going back into cyberspace after a while. He has enough space on his 3 terabyte external hard drive to store anything he could ever want, though.
I have never been so jealous.
And outraged at puzzle bobble.
