... How is space physics free? Space is practically ONLY physics. No biology, no geology, very little chemistry. Mostly just physics!

So the power supply finally came today... We plugged everything together, then when I turned the computer on... No signal on the screen. So I tried changing the graphics plugs... then I tried plugging it into the motherboard, then I tried taking out the graphics card and just running from the motherboard...

And we can't listen for system beeps because the motherboard is incompatible with the HD audio of the casing.

And I was really hoping to get this thing finished tonight too.

System beeps usually are emitted by a built in speaker on the motherboard. I had to plug a tiny speaker into my motherboard for that to work, but it uses the PC speaker for such things, not the audio card.

That's the PC speaker.

The HD Audio is a different plug somewhere else. If you tell me your motherboard model, I can look it up for you.

But you should look for a bunch of pins on the motherboard that look like :::.:

I wasn't aware of the femaleness of several of the regulars here... but then gender is something I don't pay attention to or bother to guess at all on the internet.  Everyone is just gender-neutral words to me until I'm directly informed otherwise.

I mean people are a bit different. Nothing else has changed.

How did you survive 4 years in this place?
