Soli, if you kill yourself I'll resurrect you so I can beat you to an inch of your life.  I would be so mad, whether you distanced yourself or not.  Hell, I get mad when people I haven't spoken to for a decade and wasn't even friends with do that.  So you'd probably have to live out a natural life and die before I'd be all "well gee, guess Soli could kill himself now and I'm okay."

I don't know anything about all those utilitarian things you're talking about, but I'm a lot better off having you around.  Like, almost quantifiably.  I can say "this thing, and that thing, and those other things finally went away because Soli was taking care of me."  So, try to forget this muck, if you can.  I don't know if knowing this will help your internal logic or not, but I hope so :I

All I do is work and go home to a house full of family I don't particularly enjoy being around, but have to support anyway. I can barely participate in the "sit in front of a computer and play video games" hobby, much less get out of the house and meet people. And even if I did, I have no way to actually talk to them. Politics? Religion? Work? Family? Sports? Music? None of these are topics where I have a way to relate with other people, my experiences are too different. And then there is the fact that I have lost what little physical attractiveness I used to have with a receding hairline, an expanding waist and zero sense of style. I have exactly zero prospects for new friends, much less significant relationships or romance. I am just dragged down into a pit of pointless existence.

First of all, I honestly know a woman who chases bald men like her life depended on it.  She's probably the most physically attractive girl I've ever seen, too.

Second of all, you're a person, you've had particular experiences.  I'm sure there are other people that are persons and have had similar experiences.  Out there, somewhere.  And people don't always relate based on having experienced the same things.

Good luck, dude.

Owowowowowow.

Chemical burns are no longer FTW, chemical burns fucking suck.

Everyhting hurts to touch.  :'(
What did you get burned with?
I remember our Chem 1 teacher talking about burns when we were covering acids and bases last week.  "I think Bases are worse, because while an acid will make you think 'Oh god oh god I'm going to die' a base will just feel really slippery, because it dissolved your tissue and killed all your nerve cells so you can't feel pain.  That slippery feeling is your dissolved tissue."
But she then went on to talk about how some bases can dissolve your eye if it just makes contact with us.  She's like those drug PSAs, but with chemicles.  Non-diluted acid having water added is bad, mmkay?

If it's on the skin, then acids should be slightly worse since the skin is already slightly acidic due to the bacterial culture living there.

I live in a country that votes republican 75%. There are no nearby universities where people interested in being educated might gather. All I have is my work. And I don't exactly socialize much there either.  Its like living in a desert and being to tired to go look for water, the odds of it falling out of the sky are astronomical.

Oh, now I understand what you mean.  I'm sorry, man.  I thought you were talking about some of the other experiences you've shared here.

Yeah.  Really sorry you're having a hard time.

If it helps, I can relate to that, perhaps not to the same degree, but still. At least we have the internet to talk to one another. [hug]

What we should do is ban all hydrogen ions, as it is obviousbly a threat to the well being of children.

Those are issues too I am sure. But I can't even get close enough for the shit I've gone through to scare nice normal people away.

Dwarf Fortress related:
More than half of my fortress is either insane or... dead. And amidst all the violence, I see: Sazkul Thikutromek, Cook, has been stung by a bee!
And there's this one guy, both ecstatic and the only member of my militia neither insane nor dead, who made an artifact bone axe. I drafted him so he could wield it, so of course he decides he wants to learn how to mace. I'm fine with this, though. Tetrahedrite's the only ore I've found, so we've got some silver maces for the beating of the unruly. I guess some lucky adventurer's gonna get the bone axe. And the perfect rock crystal.
