Actually Misk, there's only about fifteen hundred folks in the US whose first name is Dimitri, going by one of the name-searching whatsit sites. Narrow that down to NYC and you'd probably only have a handful of folks to sift through :P

Was kinda' interesting to stick mine in there and see there's only a few hundred folks in the states sharing my name. I'm fairly compulsive about not associating this user name with my real one, though, as well as not sharing particularly identifiable information online all around. The few folks aware of the connection are of more or less the same opinion, insofar as that goes.

Partially habit, partially because I would honestly rather be fairly forthright on opinions and suchlike online, and having some them potentially easily traced back to me is... unwise, where I'm living right now. Lot of bigoted fuckwits in my area, plenty of which wouldn't have much trouble making problems for me, as I've seen them make problems for folks a bit more vocal about not cleaving strongly to the primary social mores of the area. There's fights to be picked on the subject, but this area isn't exactly the place to be pickin' 'em. Least unless you're willing and able to resort to violence when (and when is more likely than if, from what I've seen :-\) it ends up coming down to that. Might be the latter, not so much the former.

Lot's o' Serbs in NYC.

And, as I said, I am not listed under that name legally right now. So It's entirely likely I'm not even to be found by Google at all. I will not mention my father, since he is on Wikipedia for being a Genocide Denier. As well as his brother, due to being a rather notable journalist, in addition to being his enabler.

There are so many people with my name that I've had administrative problems because of it before. When I was a child I got my doctor's appointment mixed up with that of a name-alike's.

Just Google'd Wolfeyez' real name. She's...the only one. I knew her name was unique, but damn.

If you googled my real name for three straight days, you'd never find me. Both first name and last name are high on the list of most common names.

Unintentional anonymity. Thanks, mom.

My name is weird, and it horrifies me.  I already stand out from other people because I can't properly hide my queerness, and my name makes me stand out even more.  I hate it.  I can't function.  I'm afraid to go outside.
That turned dark quickly...
I'm sure it is not that bad.

I do not understand the thing many people do where they think getting upset will get them what they want.

Random thought when reading this:  Customer Service.  It's spoiled people.  Too many businesses often will just give people whatever they want for being obnoxiously immature.  Then somehow they see the court system as the customer service desk for life in general.
