No, you're not dead. There is the risk you are never going to get revived... But it's better to be maybe dead than absolutely dead. Cryonics is done after you've been declared dead, sure, but before you're ACTUALLY dead.

Oh, I see.  Cessation of thought and bodily processes is only half dead.  When are you ACTUALLY dead then?

When you can no longer be world-weary and cynical about everything. That's true death.
Its akin to having a broken computer. You have the choice between throwing it in the landfill or keeping it until you can find a professional able to fix it. Or in this case, waiting long enough for technological immortality to be acheived.

The body would be taken out of cryo storage, patched up, and then revived. As long as the cryo process occurs in the first few minutes after death, there will not be much neurological decay, and so theoretically one would be back up and running again in essentially the same mental state as before. And if not, hey, you're dead anyway so it doesn't really bother you much if you are out a few grand.

I missed the crossing of the 10,000 post mark today. Freaking errand run after work. >:(

Also, maybe a good thing instead, but nothing is on on primetime (7-11) tonight.

I found out that MDickie has seen this video and actually likes it! And he also thinks that everyone who's commented on the video is a member of Something Awful forums and ten years old.

MDickie is the single most horrible person in the world and if he were to be murdered, nobody would care.

I'd like to remind everyone that half of the time I don't even know what I'm talking about. The other half of the time I only sort of know what I'm talking about.

How do they freeze a body without the liquids inside expanding and ruining all the blood vessels and other tiny tubes containing liquid inside your body? For example, my sister keeps rats to feed to her snake, and euthanizes the babies in a home made gas chamber. She keeps them in the freezer and their eyes burst from being frozen.

I just caught up on the sad thread. Just then. Way too much about Armok's avatar.

Anyway, now to start on the happy. Yaaay.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

I have a horrendous headache. I'd eat something sweet to help it calm down, but I'm out of sweets. I have the stuff to create cookies, but it's like 11:30 here. If I started, I'd be up til 12:30.

God damn you, belly dancing.
But should you ever have to give birth, it should go a lot easier now that you can belly dance!
